Emerald Coast Pride began as an idea; a way to get people together, and get them interested in the issues affecting the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered (GLBT) members of Panama City, Bay County and surrounding counties of Northwest Florida (NWFL), along with their families and friends.
On April 26, 2006, Emerald Coast Pride, Inc. (ECP) became the first gay pride organization in Panama City, Florida. The inception was created with the goal of empowering the GLBT community through education, advocacy and social support. Through these components ECP has grown into a visible, vocal and viable pride group that has brought together not only the GLBT community, but also its supports.
